The National Storage Mechanism (NSM) allows you to access regulated announcements and disclosed documents. Find out what is stored and how to use it.
The NSM is the FCA's official system for storing regulated information that issuers must disclose under:
- UK Listing Rules.
- Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
- Articles 17 to 19 of the Market Abuse Regulation.
- Prospectus Rules: Admission to Trading on a Regulated Market (PRM) and previous prospectus regimes.
What’s new: NSM interface
In October 2026, we launched a new interface for the NSM.
The enhanced service has been developed through extensive user research and testing. It aims to help investors, issuers and other market participants access the information they need more efficiently. This supports confidence in UK capital markets and reinforces our commitment to transparency and informed decision-making.
The NSM user guide (PDF) has been updated to reflect these changes.
The enhanced NSM is the first milestone in a wider programme to modernise how we publish markets regulatory information.
Submitting information to the NSM
Information is filed into the NSM through 3 routes:
Viewing information on the National Storage Mechanism
On the NSM, users can access the regulated information and announcements submitted by listed issuers. It allows users to search all regulatory disclosures and documents using search criteria such as company name, LEI, document type, and keywords or phrases in the document content.
Users can then view, download the document or export search results to a .csv file for free.
Find help on how to search in our NSM user guide.
Next steps: modernising markets information
Over time, we’ll bring together datasets to provide 1 authoritative place for users to find, access and reuse markets information.
This free, trusted, accessible and permanent service will be called ‘FCA Markets Information Resource and Archive’ (or FCA MIRA for short).
It will include:
- the modernised NSM
- a modernised Official List (we’ll launch a beta version as a first step)
- an Application Programming Interface (API) to allow users to access and download the data in bulk using a computer programme.
Each issuer will also have a profile page bringing together reference data about the issuer and its securities with its NSM disclosures and short positions data.
